Khephren Thuram has begun individual training four days prior to the official Juventus squad reunion scheduled by new manager Luciano Spalletti, according to reports from Tuttosport. The midfielder is working to improve his fitness independently, anticipating the arrival of his teammates.
Juventus are reportedly open to selling Thuram this transfer window, despite signing him from Nice for 20 million euros in 2023. The club’s willingness to consider offers stems from both tactical considerations and financial pressures, with Thuram’s development not fully meeting expectations. His first season with the club saw a promising return of four goals and six assists in 35 appearances, but a series of physical setbacks have hampered his progress.
Several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in Thuram, including Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, and Sunderland. However, these clubs have been deterred by Juventus’s asking price of 50 million euros, considered too high for a cash-only deal at this stage. The potential sale would represent a significant profit for Juventus.
Interest has also emerged from continental Europe, with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain both monitoring the situation. PSG are specifically looking to rejuvenate their defensive midfield options and see Thuram as a potential fit, also considering UEFA squad list requirements. Juventus are now believed to be willing to negotiate around a fee of 40 million euros to facilitate a move, freeing up space in the squad for potential additions like Franck Kessié. The transfer market is still in its early stages and is expected to be a protracted process, but Thuram continues to focus on his fitness.
