Inter academy product Luka Topalovic has spoken positively about his experience training with the first team and the guidance he’s receiving from assistant coach Cristian Chivu. The 18-year-old spoke to Fcinter1908.it’s Daniele Vitiello from Inter’s pre-season training camp in Germany.
Topalovic highlighted the impact of his assist in Inter’s final Serie A match of last season against Bologna, stating it provided significant motivation for his pre-season preparations. He expressed his desire to continue impressing the coaching staff and earn further opportunities with the senior squad.
He was particularly effusive in his praise of Chivu, describing the coach as consistently supportive, offering constructive criticism and encouragement. Topalovic revealed that Chivu offered him advice after the Bologna match, but he chose to keep the specifics of their conversation private, only stating he thanked the coach for the opportunity to play in Serie A.
The young midfielder also acknowledged the support he’s receiving from his teammates, specifically mentioning veteran midfielder Piotr Zielinski. He explained that Zielinski sits with him at mealtimes and provides advice both on and off the pitch, expressing his gratitude for the guidance. Topalovic has been with Inter’s youth system for several years, progressing through the ranks and demonstrating potential as a creative midfielder.
Inter are currently assessing their squad options ahead of the new Serie A season, with Chivu reportedly seeking two or three key additions to bolster the team, according to Sky Sport Italia. The club is also facing speculation regarding potential offers for key players like Alessandro Bastoni, with Al-Hilal reportedly interested and Inter seeking a significant fee should he depart, as per Sky Sports. Topalovic’s positive integration into the first-team environment suggests Inter are committed to developing talent from within alongside potential external signings.
