Tottenham Hotspur have reopened discussions with Manchester City regarding a potential transfer for winger Savinho, according to Fabrizio Romano. The north London club previously made a £60 million offer for the Brazilian last summer, but the bid was rejected as City opted to retain the player.
Savinho signed a new six-year contract with Manchester City in October, however, he experienced limited playing time during the recently concluded season, making 36 appearances and scoring four goals amid strong competition for places from players like Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo. Tottenham are hoping to convince Savinho that a move to the club will provide him with more regular first-team opportunities.
Newcastle United are also monitoring Savinho’s situation, but the player is reportedly open to a transfer to Tottenham. The potential acquisition of Savinho is viewed by Spurs as a key part of manager Roberto De Zerbi’s planned summer rebuild following a season where the club narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.
In addition to Savinho, Tottenham are also exploring a potential double deal with Manchester City, with goalkeeper James Trafford also on their radar. Trafford rejoined City last summer for £30 million but found himself displaced by Gianluigi Donnarumma shortly after. He is said to be seeking a move where he would be guaranteed regular starts, with current Spurs number one Guglielmo Vicario reportedly agreeing personal terms with Inter Milan. City are likely to seek a profit on Trafford, valuing him in the region of £30 million.
Spurs are also reportedly pursuing other targets, including RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, though he is also attracting interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi as De Zerbi looks to address a perceived lack of leadership within the squad. A ‘verbal agreement’ has already been reached for Senesi, while competition for Robertson is expected to be fierce.
