The summer transfer window is in full swing across Europe, with significant activity reported across the top five leagues on July 29th. Tottenham Hotspur have been particularly active, reportedly spending €267million on new talent including Jan Paul van Hecke (€60m), Sandro Tonali (€108m), and Mateus Fernandes (€99m). They have also added Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka on free transfers, bolstering their squad under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Chelsea are also making significant investments under Xabi Alonso, having secured Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for €138m and Marco Palestra from Atalanta for €57m. Pre-arranged deals have also brought Geovany Quenda (€50m), Emmanuel Emegha (€25.3m), Denner (€10m), and Dastan Satpaev (€2.4m) to Stamford Bridge. BBC Sport understands the Blues are nearing the acquisition of France defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace for a fee of €60m. In contrast, Chelsea have generated revenue through the permanent sales of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, Andrey Santos to Manchester United, and Tyrique George to Everton, totaling approximately €132.3m. Alejandro Garnacho has also departed on loan to Aston Villa, with a conditional obligation for a permanent transfer.
Manchester United, under Michael Carrick, have added Youri Tielemans (€41m) and Karl Darlow on a free transfer to their ranks. Manchester City have invested heavily in Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for €135m, alongside Mathys Detourbet (€25m) and Jeremy Monga (€11.7m). Arsenal have secured the services of Christos Tzolis for €40m and Illan Meslier on a free transfer, while Liverpool have brought in Victor Munoz from Osasuna (€40m) and Samuel Martinez from Atletico Nacional for €879,000.
Outside of the Premier League, Barcelona have added Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon (€80m) and Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi (€22m, rising to €29m) to their squad. Real Madrid, following Jose Mourinho’s return, have signed Denzel Dumfries (€20m), Ibrahima Konate on a free transfer, and Bernardo Silva on a free transfer, alongside Cucurella. They are also reportedly close to signing Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. Bayern Munich have added Nathaniel Brown (€55m) and Ismael Saibari (€55m), while AC Milan have signed Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain for a club-record €70m to support new manager Ruben Amorim. Several smaller deals were also completed across the leagues, including Kjell Scherpen moving from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise to Ipswich Town for €10m and Lois Openda going on loan from Juventus to Lyon.
