The summer transfer window is well underway, with numerous deals being completed across Europe’s top five leagues on July 9th. Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the most active club thus far, bolstering their squad with six new signings including Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka, signalling a clear intent to improve following a disappointing 2025-26 season under new manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Chelsea have also been busy, adding Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev and Denner to their ranks, with Maxence Lacroix and Pep Chavarria also strongly linked with moves to Stamford Bridge. Manchester City have broken their club transfer record to secure the services of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, alongside winger Mathys Detourbet from Troyes.
Manchester United are poised to add Ederson and Andrey Santos to their midfield, having reached full agreements for both Brazilian players. Arsenal are in advanced negotiations for Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, while Leeds United have secured Harry Wilson on a free transfer from Fulham. Liverpool have seen a move for Yan Diomande fall through, with the player preferring a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, but have added Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet to their squad.
Across La Liga, Barcelona have completed a significant deal, bringing in Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for a fee of €80 million. Real Madrid have also been active, acquiring Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries. Bayern Munich have secured the signature of Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, and AC Milan have added Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain. Several other moves were confirmed today, including Jota Silva’s loan move from Nottingham Forest to Olympiacos and Sean Steur’s €27 million transfer from Ajax to Newcastle. Illan Meslier has joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Leeds, while Harrison Ashby has moved to Luton on loan from Newcastle.
Further deals included Lorenzo Amatucci moving from Fiorentina to Deportivo La Coruna for €2.5m, Gaetano Oristanio going on loan from Venezia to Torino, and Albion Rrahmani joining Venezia from Sparta Prague for €7.5m. Bundesliga saw Cole Campbell move from Borussia Dortmund to Elversberg for €6m, while Ligue 1 deals included Loic Nego’s free transfer to Omonia Nicosia, Christ Tape’s €2.5m move to Toulouse, and Gabin Bernardeau’s €1m transfer to Lorient.
