Arsenal transfer target Nicolò Tresoldi has spoken publicly about speculation linking him with a move to the Emirates Stadium, though he maintains he is currently happy at Club Brugge. The 21-year-old striker finished the season with 23 goals in all competitions for the Belgian side, attracting attention from several clubs, including the Gunners.
Speaking to Sport Bild, Tresoldi acknowledged the reported interest from Arsenal, stating, “I don’t know if that’s true (laughs). But it’s nice to be linked with such clubs. It’s an honour for me, and it shows I’m on the right path.” Despite the flattery, Tresoldi indicated his current intention is to remain with Brugge, adding, “As things stand, I will be with the club next season,” while also conceding that “anything can happen in the summer.”
Tresoldi further discussed the possibility of a return to Germany, where he spent part of his youth career with Hannover 96 after moving there at the age of 13 from his native Italy. He expressed enjoyment in playing abroad but remained open to future opportunities, stating, “I like travelling and playing in different countries, so I can imagine anything and I’m open to everything.”
The forward joined Club Brugge last summer after regularly featuring for Hannover 96 in the 2. Bundesliga. He quickly established himself as a key player in Belgium, winning the top scorer award in his debut season in the Belgian Pro League with 19 goals. He has also impressed at the international level, scoring 12 goals in 24 caps for Germany’s under-21 team. Arsenal scouts were reportedly in attendance to watch Tresoldi play in April.
Arsenal are currently prioritizing a move for Julian Alvarez to bolster their attacking options. However, uncertainty surrounds the futures of Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard, leaving the door open to potential moves for other forwards such as Tresoldi this summer. The club are understood to be continuing to monitor the situation, though currently favour more established options.
