Udinese have confirmed the permanent signing of midfielder Vojvoda, the club announced on Friday afternoon, following a 2-2 pre-season draw against Croatian side Istra 1961.
The friendly match, played at the Bruseschi sports centre, saw Istra take an early lead through a Kablar header from a corner, and Jaganjac extended their advantage in the second half.
Udinese mounted a late comeback, with Piotrowski scoring a spectacular overhead kick to halve the deficit five minutes from time, before Vinciati equalised with a powerful strike following a headed flick-on from Gueye.
The match served as the first pre-season outing for Runjaic’s side, who will begin a training camp in Lienz on July 22nd.
Vojvoda’s arrival bolsters Udinese’s midfield options ahead of the upcoming Serie A campaign, although financial details of the transfer have not been disclosed.
The 24-year-old joins a team looking to build on a mid-table finish last season, and his signing suggests Udinese are aiming to strengthen their squad depth for a potentially challenging campaign.
Udinese’s pre-season schedule continues with fixtures against Swansea City on July 24th and Al-Ahli Dubai on July 28th, culminating in the “Friuli Venezia Giulia Cup” where they will face Barcelona and Nottingham Forest.
The Serie A season begins for Udinese on August 22nd with a home match against Como.
