Deniz Undav has signed a contract extension with VfB Stuttgart, committing his future to the Bundesliga club until at least 2029, with an option for a further year. The agreement, finalized after a meeting on Friday night, is reported by Sky Germany to be a club-record deal.
According to transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg, the new contract is worth €6 million per year, in addition to a €3 million signing-on bonus. This represents a significant increase in remuneration for the 29-year-old forward, reflecting his importance to the Stuttgart squad. The extension secures Undav’s services during what are expected to be his peak years.
Undav enjoyed a prolific season with Stuttgart, scoring 25 goals and providing 12 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. His impressive form was instrumental in Stuttgart’s strong Bundesliga campaign, which saw them qualify for the Champions League. He has quickly become a fan favorite at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Prior to joining Stuttgart in 2023, Undav had built a reputation as a consistent goalscorer in the 2. Bundesliga with Heidenheim and Darmstadt 98. His move to Stuttgart represented a step up to the top flight, and he has seamlessly adapted to the higher level. He has also earned international recognition, being selected for Germany’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign by national team manager Julian Nagelsmann.
The contract extension provides Stuttgart with a key attacking asset for the foreseeable future, bolstering their ambitions both domestically and in European competition. Retaining Undav is a significant coup for the club, demonstrating their ability to compete with larger European teams for top talent.
