Venezia have completed a club-record deal to sign striker Akor Adams from Sevilla, the Serie A club confirmed. The transfer fee is reported to be €17 million, with potential for further bonuses, surpassing the previous record of approximately €7 million spent on Bella-Kotchap.
The acquisition represents a significant investment for Venezia as they prepare for their first season back in the Italian top flight. The club, recently promoted, aims to consolidate their position in Serie A and avoid repeating past relegation struggles, according to reports from within the club. Director of Sport Antonelli and the American ownership group have been actively working to build a competitive squad under manager Paolo Stroppa.
Adams has signed a contract with Venezia that runs until June 30, 2030, earning a reported €1.5 million per season. Adams began his professional career with Sogndal in Norway in 2018, registering 16 goals and 6 assists in 56 appearances. He then moved to Lillestrøm, where he enjoyed a breakout season, scoring 28 goals and providing 7 assists in 50 matches, including appearances in the Conference League qualifiers. A transfer to Montpellier followed in the summer of 2023, where he scored 13 goals and delivered 5 assists in 49 games. He joined Sevilla in January 2025, making 37 appearances and scoring 10 goals before his move to Italy.
Internationally, Adams has represented Nigeria at both Under-20 and senior levels, earning 15 caps for the national team and scoring 6 goals. His arrival at Venezia signals the club’s ambition to compete effectively in Serie A and establish themselves as a consistent force in Italian football.
