Aston Villa and Chelsea are both monitoring Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe, with Villa prepared to intensify their interest as they seek attacking reinforcements, according to sources at TEAMtalk. The 23-year-old, born in London, is viewed by Villa manager Unai Emery as a potential upgrade to current squad members who may be departing.
Rowe joined Bologna from Marseille last August for a reported €18 million. He previously impressed in the English Championship with Norwich City, showcasing pace and dribbling ability that attracted attention from numerous clubs. However, it is in Italy where his form has significantly improved, establishing him as a promising talent in Serie A.
Last season, Rowe contributed 13 goals and assists in 43 appearances for Bologna, leading to increased interest from Premier League clubs. While Villa are currently leading the chase, Chelsea have also been tracking his development for over a year, despite recently agreeing a club-record £117 million deal for Morgan Rogers from Villa. The Blues’ potential movement may depend on the sale of Alejandro Garnacho.
