Dusan Vlahovic’s future at Juventus is increasingly uncertain as contract renewal talks have stalled, according to reports in TuttoSport. The situation has become more complex despite a positive on-field relationship between Vlahovic and manager Luciano Spalletti, who immediately integrated the Serbian striker into the starting lineup upon his arrival.
Spalletti publicly praised Vlahovic, stating “With Vlahovic it’s a whole different story,” a sentiment reciprocated by the player who expressed gratitude for the manager’s consistent support. This renewed partnership yielded four goals in four matches at the end of the season, however, it wasn’t enough to secure a Champions League qualification spot for Juventus. The club ultimately failed to reach the top four, impacting the likelihood of a contract extension.
The breakdown in negotiations centers around financial demands, specifically regarding salary, commissions, and a signing bonus, with discussions between Juventus’s management and Vlahovic’s father and representative, Milos Vlahovic, proving difficult. While Spalletti initially advocated for Vlahovic’s renewal to build a stable team, he is now reportedly resigned to the possibility of his departure, aligning with a compromise strategy outlined by club owner John Elkann.
Spalletti has reportedly requested the acquisition of a physical, central striker capable of consistently scoring goals. Several players have been identified as potential targets, including Jean-Philippe Mateta, who recently won the Conference League final, Alexander Sorloth, and Gonzalo Garcia. However, the primary target remains Randal Kolo Muani, with Juventus having previously attempted to sign him in January and continuing to engage with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential transfer. Vlahovic’s celebration with his entourage after a recent match may represent his final moments as a Juventus player.
