Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic has informed the club of his desire to leave following the agreement of a £52million deal for Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke, according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook. The 19-year-old Croatian centre-back is reportedly unhappy with the prospect of being loaned again or receiving limited playing time in the 2026/27 season.
Vuskovic joined Tottenham in 2023 but has yet to make a competitive appearance for the first team, spending the past three seasons on loan at Radomiak Radom, Westerlo, and most recently, Hamburg. He enjoyed a successful campaign in Germany, where he was voted the third-best player in the Bundesliga behind Harry Kane and Michael Olise, demonstrating his potential on the European stage.
Brighton have already had two bids for Vuskovic rejected, the latest reported to be around £35million, and it remains to be seen if they will pursue a third offer. While Tottenham officials would prefer another loan spell for the highly-rated youngster, Vuskovic’s stance suggests a permanent move is his preference. Manager Roberto De Zerbi’s interest in the player is also unclear.
Adding to Tottenham’s potential reshaping of their squad, former club scout Bryan King has claimed the club have approached LAFC forward Son Heung-min about a possible return to north London. King suggests a loan deal could be considered, but the financial implications, including Son’s high MLS wages, could prove a significant obstacle. The club is also reportedly pursuing other attacking options, such as Savinho.
Further bolstering Tottenham’s defensive options, Fabrizio Romano reports that Sandro Tonali is set to join the club from Newcastle United, while discussions continue regarding the transfer of Jan Paul van Hecke. Antonin Kinsky is expected to remain with Tottenham, though the arrival of new goalkeepers could see him drop to second choice.
