Bundesliga clubs Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach are both monitoring Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, the 21-year-old midfielder currently at Inter Milan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The report indicates that Inter are seeking a fee of up to €10million for the Nigerian international, who spent last season on loan at Serie A side Pisa SC.
Akinsanmiro featured in 24 Serie A matches for Pisa during the 2023-24 campaign, establishing himself as a regular in the central midfield position. Pisa were reportedly keen to secure a permanent deal for Akinsanmiro last summer, with a bid of €7.5million submitted, but the transfer ultimately collapsed due to an administrative issue. This setback has seemingly opened the door for increased interest from clubs in Germany.
While German clubs lead the chase, Serie A side Bologna FC have also registered their interest in the player, though a move to the Bundesliga appears more probable at this stage. Inter Milan are now aiming to capitalise on Akinsanmiro’s development and the previous interest, demanding a higher fee than initially requested by Pisa.
Akinsanmiro progressed through the Inter Milan youth system, and while he has not yet become a consistent first-team player for the Nerazzurri, his loan spell at Pisa demonstrated his potential in a competitive league. The right-footed midfielder offers a dynamic presence in the centre of the park, and his age makes him an attractive prospect for clubs looking to build for the future. Should he move to either Bremen or Mönchengladbach, Akinsanmiro would likely compete for a starting role in a league known for developing young talent.
The increased valuation placed on Akinsanmiro by Inter reflects his successful loan period and the competition for his signature. A move to the Bundesliga would provide Akinsanmiro with a new challenge and an opportunity to further showcase his abilities on a prominent European stage.
