Willian Estevao hits €100m valuation landmark at Chelsea
Chelsea forward Willian Estevao has become the youngest Premier League player to achieve an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) exceeding €100 million, according to data from FootballTransfers. The 18-year-old Brazilian’s valuation has risen to €101 million in the latest April update, making him the second-most valuable player at Stamford Bridge behind only midfielder Moises Caicedo, who is valued at €112 million.
Estevao arrived at Chelsea from Palmeiras last summer in a deal worth a reported €45 million. His rapid ascent in valuation is attributed to an impressive debut campaign in England, where he has scored eight goals and provided four assists across all competitions. A key performance in a 3-0 Champions League victory over Barcelona in November highlighted his potential, and he recently returned from a hamstring injury with a goal and an assist in an FA Cup win over Port Vale.
The algorithm used by FootballTransfers, which incorporates hundreds of in-game data points, suggests Estevao’s on-field impact and his perceived ceiling have been significant factors. Data analytics firm SciSports has described his development as "rapid." Furthermore, his contractual situation strengthens Chelsea's position, as he is tied to the club until 2033, giving the Blues full control over his future with no immediate pressure to sell.
Estevao’s valuation places him well ahead of other teenage talents in the Premier League, with Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly his closest rival at €56.6 million. Within Chelsea’s squad, Cole Palmer ranks third with an ETV of €98.2 million, followed by Enzo Fernandez at €83 million and Joao Pedro at €71.3 million. The rise in values for several Chelsea players comes amid a season of fluctuating form for the team, though Estevao has emerged as a consistent bright spot.
The landmark underscores Chelsea’s significant investment in young talent and their success, thus far, with Estevao’s integration. For the player, it marks a swift justification of his transfer fee and establishes him as one of world football’s most prized assets. His continued development will be crucial for Chelsea’s long-term project as they build around a core of highly-valued young stars.
