Both Sky Germany and Sport BILD report that the 28-year-old has been training individually with Schalke’s squad and is expected to sign a contract with performance-based incentives. Wöber’s move comes after a frustrating loan spell at Werder Bremen last season, where injuries limited him to just four appearances, preventing the Bundesliga side from exercising their €4 million purchase option.
Wöber initially joined Leeds United from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2023, but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Elland Road.
