Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade is seeking a move away from the club and a return to “mainland Europe”, according to TEAMtalk. The Germany international has fallen out of favour with manager Eddie Howe after a promising start to the season, with William Osula now preferred in attack.
Newcastle may be willing to sanction a loan move for Woltemade this summer if suitable offers emerge, with Atletico Madrid and several Bundesliga clubs reportedly interested in providing him with an escape route. The 24-year-old joined Newcastle last year for a club-record fee, but has struggled for consistent game time recently.
In other transfer news, Barcelona director Deco has travelled to London to hold talks with representatives of Chelsea forward Joao Pedro, as reported by Sport. The Catalan club are looking to strengthen their attacking options and have turned to Pedro after seemingly missing out on Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez. However, a deal will be difficult due to Pedro’s importance to Chelsea and Barcelona’s financial constraints.
Barcelona are also planning further discussions with Manchester United regarding Marcus Rashford, according to The Independent. Deco is expected to engage with the Red Devils next week, and there is a possibility that United may be more open to a deal than previously. Rashford has made it clear he wishes to remain in Catalonia, despite currently being on loan there.
Nottingham Forest are determined to retain their key players this summer, despite interest from several top clubs in Elliot Anderson, reports David Ornstein. Forest are planning to offer manager Vitor Pereira a new contract, indicating a desire for stability after a turbulent season.
Manchester City are poised to sign Mathys Detourbet from Troyes for €25 million, with the 19-year-old immediately being loaned to AS Monaco, according to Fabrice Hawkins. City are also targeting Hertha BSC wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn, with a plan to sign him for €12 million and loan him to Bayer Leverkusen, though they face competition from Bayern Munich who have offered the 16-year-old a lucrative contract.
Bournemouth have confirmed the impending departure of Marcos Senesi, and the race for his signature is heating up, according to Ben Jacobs. Tottenham are interested, but their pursuit is contingent on staying in the Premier League, opening the door for Manchester United and Liverpool to potentially enter the fray. Liverpool are also awaiting a contract decision from Ibrahima Konate.
