Kenan Yildiz has returned to Juventus training, though his reintegration will be gradual as he continues to recover from recent injuries. The 19-year-old forward will begin with personalized training sessions at the club’s Continassa facility, according to reports in the Italian media. Juventus chairman John Elkann has reportedly made Yildiz a key part of the club’s long-term plans, securing him with a contract extension through 2030.
Yildiz’s end to the 2023-24 Serie A season was hampered by a tendinopathy in his knee, which limited his playing time. He subsequently suffered a calf injury that ruled him out of the final Turin derby. The young player has been working to regain full fitness, with an eye towards potential involvement in future international competitions.
Juventus are taking a cautious approach to Yildiz’s return to full training, prioritizing his fitness for the start of the upcoming Serie A campaign. He will not immediately join the full squad, instead focusing on individual sessions to build strength and endurance. This means he is currently doubtful for Saturday’s friendly match against Standard Liege.
Yildiz broke into the Juventus first team last season, making 32 appearances across all competitions and scoring 4 goals. He has represented Turkey at youth levels and will be hoping to earn a senior call-up as his career progresses. The club views him as a significant talent for the future, and Spalletti will be keen to integrate him into the team once he is fully fit. His continued development is expected to be a key component of Juventus’s attacking plans in the seasons to come.
