John Doe completes €15m move to Club B from Club A
Club B have signed defender John Doe from Club A in a permanent transfer worth €15m, finalizing the deal ahead of next week's La Liga opener. The 28-year-old has signed a four-year contract with his new club and will join their preseason preparations immediately.
Doe leaves Club A after making 132 appearances across five seasons, establishing himself as a consistent performer in Ligue 1. His departure follows months of speculation linking him with a move to Spain, where Club B sought defensive reinforcements after conceding 58 league goals last campaign.
The transfer fee could rise to €18m through performance-related add-ons, according to Marca. Club A initially demanded €20m but compromised as the player reportedly pushed for the move, seeking a new challenge in a top-five European league.
Doe's physical presence and aerial ability are expected to bolster Club B's backline, which ranked among La Liga's weakest defensive units last season. His arrival comes three days after manager Carlos Mendes stated publicly that improving defensive organization was his "top priority" during the transfer window.
For Club A, the sale continues their strategy of developing and selling players at a profit after signing Doe from Belgian Pro League side Club X for €4.5m in 2019. The French club has already secured replacement left-back Pierre Dubois from Club Y in a separate €10m deal.
