Juventus' Transfer Plans Hinge on Champions League Qualification
Juventus's ability to attract top transfer targets, including Manchester City's Bernardo Silva, is dependent on the club securing UEFA Champions League qualification, according to reports. The club's summer transfer strategy is said to be entirely contingent on a top-four finish in Serie A.
Failure to qualify for the Champions League would force a significant shift in strategy. In that scenario, the club would likely need to sell a key player to bolster its finances, with midfielders Khephren Thuram and Pierre Kalulu, and defender Gleison Bremer, identified as potential candidates for a high-value sale to generate a capital gain. The futures of several high-profile targets are directly tied to Champions League qualification. While Liverpool's Alisson Becker is reportedly open to a move regardless of European football, Manchester City's Bernardo Silva is considered a viable target only if Juventus can offer Champions League football. Silva is said to favour a move to Barcelona, with Major League Soccer also an option.
Other targets, including Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski and Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka, are also considered unrealistic without the financial and sporting lure of the Champions League. Similarly, moves for Mason Greenwood or Randal Kolo Muani would likely require a significant capital gain from a major sale, such as that of defender Bremer. The club's entire summer transfer window hinges on the final seven games of the Serie A season, with a place in Europe's premier competition the key to unlocking their ambitious plans.
