Inter Milan have initiated discussions with representatives of Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence regarding a potential transfer to the San Siro, according to sources at TEAMtalk. The Serie A champions are considering a move for the England international, though several Premier League clubs are also monitoring his situation as Tottenham Hotspur appear willing to allow him to leave.
Spence has reportedly been informed by Tottenham that he is not a key part of Roberto De Zerbi’s plans, opening the door for a transfer this summer. The 25-year-old has been gaining attention following a strong showing in recent international fixtures, demonstrating his versatility in operating on both flanks and in advanced wing-back positions.
Inter Milan view Spence’s tactical flexibility as a valuable asset as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of defending their Serie A title and competing in the Champions League. The Nerazzurri have already been active in the English market this summer, continuing their pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, and could potentially attempt a double raid on the Premier League by also securing Spence’s signature.
However, Inter face competition from within the Premier League, with Everton having already made contact about a possible move. Liverpool and Newcastle United are also reportedly attentive to Spence’s situation, though Inter have taken the lead by initiating direct talks with his representatives. Tottenham are believed to be seeking to generate £170 million in player sales this summer, and Spence is among a group of players the club are prepared to part with. His departure would allow Spurs to fund new signings, including a potential move for a Barcelona attacker.
