Maghnes Akliouche is expected to leave Monaco this summer and has prioritized a move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to L’ÉQUIPE. The 24-year-old midfielder has been in discussions with PSG through his representatives, though he recently stated his focus remains on his participation in the ongoing Coupe du monde.
Negotiations between the three parties are ongoing and a swift resolution is anticipated, with a source suggesting “it can go very quickly.” Paris had previously shown interest in Akliouche last year but was waiting to finalize the departure of an existing offensive player before pursuing the transfer. An agreement has now been reached with AC Milan for the transfer of Gonçalo Ramos, clearing the way for Akliouche’s arrival. The potential departure of Lee Kang-in, who has attracted interest from clubs like Atlético de Madrid, is also expected to facilitate the move.
Monaco is likely to accept a lower transfer fee than the approximately €70 million they sought last summer. The club now recognizes the need to sell and will be more flexible in negotiations. Akliouche expressed his desire to join PSG during the previous transfer window, but the club opted to prioritize opportunities for players from their youth academy at that time.
Akliouche has made 10 appearances for the French national team, scoring one goal. He is currently under contract with Monaco until 2028. The positive relationship between Monaco and PSG is also expected to streamline the negotiation process and lead to a quick agreement. This transfer will add depth to PSG’s midfield options as they prepare for the upcoming season.
