Max Allegri is poised to become the new manager of Napoli, with a formal announcement expected tomorrow during a press conference hosted by club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, according to reports in Italy. The conference is scheduled to cover pre-season retreat arrangements in Dimaro and Castel di Sangro.
Allegri, recently departed from Juventus, has identified two players he wishes to bring to Napoli: Adrien Rabiot, currently at Milan, and Mario Gila of Lazio. Rabiot is seen as a potential replacement for Frank Anguissa, with Galatasaray also reportedly interested in the midfielder. Gila would bolster the defensive options for the Neapolitan side.
Napoli are also progressing with other transfer business. Leonardo Spinazzola is expected to sign a contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2028. The club is also nearing the completion of a permanent deal for winger Álisson Santos from Sporting, for a fee of €16.5 million. Players Lucca and Lukaku are expected to depart, while the future of goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic Savic is under consideration, with Matej Kovar of PSV as a potential replacement.
Como are actively pursuing players from Real Madrid, hoping to secure Nico Paz for another season and also targeting forwards Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios. Roma are showing strong interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Kerim Alajbegović, although Sam Greenwood of Marseille remains a target for Atalanta. Roma are also set to appoint Rino Gattuso as their new manager, with a two-year contract worth €1.7 million per season, plus an option for a third year.
Lazio are concerned about potential interest from Al Sadd in defender Romagnoli, who has been offered a three-year contract worth €6 million annually. Other Serie A moves include Venezia’s attempt to sign Vojvoda from Como, Parma’s pursuit of Strefezza from Olympiacos, and Zaniolo’s permanent transfer to Udinese from Galatasaray. Fabio Grosso is expected to be confirmed as the new Fiorentina manager within 48 hours, potentially bringing Sassuolo’s Volpato with him. Genoa have signed Vaz, are tracking Obaretin from Napoli, and are prepared to exercise their option to buy Baldanzi from Roma. Monza have renewed Birindelli’s contract until 2028 and are close to signing Kalogeropoulos from Olympiacos.
Vincenzo Italiano, previously linked with Napoli, is now a target for Besiktas after the club opted for Allegri. The former Bologna manager may also receive offers from other clubs abroad.
