Al-Nassr have appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, effective from the start of next season, the Saudi Arabian club announced on Friday. The 60-year-old Greek-Australian coach has signed a two-year contract with the Riyadh-based side. Postecoglou was most recently in charge of Nottingham Forest, before being relieved of his duties in October 2025.
This move sees Postecoglou take the reins from Jorge Jesus, who guided Al-Nassr to the Saudi Pro League title last season, secured by a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo on the final day. Despite the championship victory, Jesus opted not to extend his stay with the club. Postecoglou’s appointment marks the tenth managerial position of his career, bringing a wealth of experience to the Saudi Arabian league.
Postecoglou’s previous roles include successful spells with Yokohama Marinos and Celtic Glasgow. He also managed Tottenham Hotspur, where he won the Europa League in 2025 against Manchester United. Prior to his club management career, he served as the head coach of the Australian national team, demonstrating his ability to lead at the international level.
The appointment of Postecoglou signals Al-Nassr’s ambition to continue their success in the Saudi Pro League and potentially make an impact on the Asian Champions League. His tactical approach and experience in developing players will be crucial as Al-Nassr look to build on their recent title win and establish themselves as a dominant force in Saudi Arabian football.
