Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all continuing discussions with the representatives of Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, according to TEAMtalk. Aston Villa are reportedly seeking a club-record fee exceeding £100 million for the 23-year-old, surpassing the amount received for Jack Grealish in 2021.
Despite the high valuation, none of the three clubs have been deterred, with talks intensifying as the summer transfer window progresses. Middlesbrough is also due to receive up to 20% of any future transfer fee, influencing Villa’s desire to secure a substantial return on investment.
Arsenal’s pursuit has reportedly impressed Rogers and his camp, with manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta actively involved in outlining their vision for the player’s role within the team. The Gunners see Rogers as a versatile option capable of playing on the left wing or as a number ten.
Manchester City have also stepped up their interest, particularly with the arrival of new head coach Enzo Maresca and a planned squad refresh. The club is considering Rogers as a potential addition, having previously developed the player during his youth career. Chelsea, meanwhile, have maintained a long-standing interest, with co-director of recruitment Joe Shields having a pre-existing relationship with Rogers from his time at Manchester City.
Aston Villa publicly maintain they do not wish to sell Rogers, viewing him as a key player in their project. However, sources suggest the club is preparing for the possibility of receiving a formal offer that could prove difficult to resist, acknowledging the level of interest and the player’s growing reputation. The race for Rogers’ signature remains open, with all three clubs continuing to present their proposals.
Rogers enjoyed a productive season with Aston Villa, contributing goals and assists as they secured European qualification. He has also represented England at youth levels. A move to one of the Premier League’s top clubs would represent a significant step up in his career, providing him with a platform to further develop his potential.
