Arsenal are increasingly confident of securing a deal for Leicester City’s 16-year-old prospect Jeremy Monga, according to Fabrizio Romano. The young player has reportedly informed interested clubs of his preference for a move to the North London side and will depart Leicester this summer after rejecting a professional contract offer.
Monga’s potential arrival adds to Arsenal’s activity in the transfer market as they also join the competition for Porto winger William Gomes. Globo Esporte reports that Arsenal have made contact with the Portuguese club regarding the 20-year-old Brazilian, though Porto are reluctant to sell and value him at around €60 million, with a release clause set at €80 million. Gomes enjoyed an impressive season but did not feature in Brazil’s World Cup squad.
Further forward, Rafael Leao has publicly expressed his desire to leave AC Milan in search of a “new challenge” outside of Serie A. The winger has been linked with Arsenal, Barcelona, and Manchester United, with Milan reportedly seeking around €50 million for the Portugal international. Leao stated his admiration for the Premier League and LaLiga, indicating a willingness to join a club in either league.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich continue to monitor Gabriel Martinelli, as reported by Christian Falk. The Bundesliga champions previously expressed interest in the Brazilian during Thomas Tuchel’s tenure, and he remains on their shortlist. However, with Bayern poised to sign Ismael Saibari from PSV, a move for Martinelli appears less likely, despite a reported price tag of €45 million. Martinelli’s profile does not entirely align with Bayern’s current recruitment strategy.
In other news, Bournemouth are adamant that Eli Kroupi will not be leaving the club this summer, according to TEAMtalk. Despite reported interest from several top clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, PSG, and Liverpool, the Cherries are “completely relaxed” about the situation and have no intention of selling the teenage forward. Kroupi has been linked with a move to a Champions League club, but Bournemouth are determined to retain his services.
