Arsenal have been given encouragement to pursue a deal for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, according to reports. The Gunners are seeking to strengthen their attack ahead of their Premier League title defence and Champions League campaign, with the 23-year-old emerging as a key target.
Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta is reportedly driving the interest in Barcola, as the club assesses options on the left wing. Gabriel Martinelli’s role has been somewhat diminished since the arrival of Leandro Trossard, leading to speculation about the Brazilian’s future and a need for a consistent starter in that position. Martinelli scored 11 goals in all competitions last season, but only one came in the Premier League.
Barcola enjoyed a successful 2025/26 season with PSG, contributing 13 goals and seven assists as the club secured both the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League. However, he was surprisingly left out of the starting lineup for the Champions League final, with Luis Enrique opting for Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in attack. This perceived lack of favour may contribute to his willingness to consider a move.
Liverpool had also expressed interest in Barcola, particularly after their primary target, Yan Diomande, indicated a preference for a move to PSG. However, sources claim Arsenal are now accelerating their pursuit, having received signals from PSG that they would be open to offers for the France international. Arsenal plan to scout Barcola during France’s upcoming World Cup match against Sweden.
PSG have reportedly placed a €135m (£116m) price tag on Barcola, reflecting his potential and recent performances. Arsenal are also simultaneously pursuing Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers, with Villa demanding a £130m fee for the 23-year-old who scored 10 goals and provided six assists in the Premier League last season. The potential arrival of either Barcola or Rogers would provide competition and depth to Arsenal’s attacking options, potentially solidifying their position as title contenders.
