Arsenal are set to submit an opening offer for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad following a season that saw the Gunners win their first Premier League title since 2004 and reach the Champions League final.
Having lost to PSG in the Champions League final in May, Arsenal are planning a significant overhaul of the squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Several players, including Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Christian Norgaard, and Ben White, have been linked with potential departures. The club anticipates bringing in multiple new first-team players to address key areas.
Full-back is considered a priority position, with Newcastle United’s Valentino Livramento among those of interest, alongside targets for central midfield and the left wing. While Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli shared time on the left wing last season, Arsenal view the position as a squad weakness and are actively seeking reinforcements before the transfer window closes on September 1st.
According to The Independent, Arsenal are now preparing a formal bid for the 23-year-old Barcola, with competition expected from Liverpool. The Frenchman is highly regarded and seen as an immediate upgrade to Arsenal’s starting eleven. PSG are reportedly open to a sale should an appropriate offer be presented, particularly given Barcola’s recent international form, having scored for France in their World Cup opener against Senegal.
Barcola’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is currently just over €70 million. The Independent reports that Arsenal could pursue both Barcola and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers this summer, signalling a strong commitment to supporting Arteta in the transfer market as they aim to win the Champions League. Should Barcola arrive at the Emirates Stadium, it is anticipated that either Trossard or Martinelli may leave, as the club intends to maintain a streamlined squad with only two dedicated left wingers.
