Arsenal have submitted a renewed enquiry for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, according to TEAMtalk. The 22-year-old has emerged as a key target for the Gunners, alongside Manchester United, particularly following Tottenham’s agreement to sign Mateus Fernandes. Arsenal’s latest contact with Bournemouth aims to gauge the possibility of a deal, however, the Cherries remain resolute in their stance. They are unwilling to sell Scott this summer unless a bid exceeding €80 million is presented.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are encountering resistance in their pursuit of Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria. AS reports that Rayo have quoted Chelsea a €50 million fee for the 28-year-old, despite previous offers from the Blues in the region of €9 million and €15 million being rejected. Xabi Alonso is believed to have requested a specialist left-back to replace Marc Cucurella, and personal terms with Chavarria are already agreed. Rayo are holding firm due to Chavarria’s recent contract extension through 2030 and his €50 million release clause.
In a significant move, Tottenham have agreed a €117 million package to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, as reported by The Athletic. After an initial bid was turned down, Spurs increased their offer, including a substantial upfront payment exceeding €100 million, which Newcastle ultimately accepted. Tonali, who was also a target for Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United, has agreed personal terms. Tottenham’s financial commitment proved decisive in securing the Italy international.
Aston Villa are reportedly demanding a fee of up to €150 million (£130m) for forward Morgan Rogers, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. Rogers is a top target for Arsenal, and has attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain. Villa’s valuation is influenced by Elliot Anderson’s recent €134 million transfer to Manchester City. Crystal Palace are also downplaying reports linking Chelsea with a move for centre-back Maxence Lacroix, with the Eagles believing they could demand over €60 million for the player, citing Jan Paul van Hecke’s recent transfer as a benchmark.
Further transfer activity includes Brighton nearing a deal to sign Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic for up to €58 million, and Arsenal potentially replacing Kepa Arrizabalaga with free agent Illan Meslier. Celtic are also reportedly interested in Hertha BSC goalkeeper Tjark Ernst, while Scotland No.1 Angus Gunn is finalizing a move to the San Jose Earthquakes.
