Arsenal will hold discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential move for Bradley Barcola this week, according to reports in France. The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the winger, with BBC Sport reporting their interest as early as June and receiving indications he could be available this summer.
French newspaper L’Equipe claims Barcola is set to meet with PSG officials following his participation in the recent World Cup, where France reached the semi-finals. The Ligue 1 champions value the 23-year-old at €150million (£127m). Contract talks between Barcola and PSG were reportedly paused until after the tournament, with the player currently having two years remaining on his existing deal.
This pursuit of Barcola comes after Arsenal were unsuccessful in their attempt to sign Morgan Rogers, who has opted to join Chelsea in a deal worth €137m (£117m) from Aston Villa. The Athletic reported Rogers was a key target for Arsenal, but the England international favoured a move to Stamford Bridge. The valuation for Rogers is understood to have exceeded Arsenal’s expectations, ultimately leading to Chelsea’s successful hijack.
Rogers, who featured for England at the World Cup, will undergo a medical with Chelsea on Monday, with a six-year contract anticipated. Both Barcola and Rogers enjoyed European success last season, with Barcola winning the Champions League with PSG and Rogers lifting the Europa League trophy with Aston Villa. Barcola recorded 13 goals and 6 assists in 48 appearances for PSG across all competitions in the 2025/26 season, while Rogers contributed 14 goals and 11 assists in 55 games for Villa.
The failed pursuit of Rogers has seemingly prompted Arsenal to intensify their interest in Barcola, who is considered one of Europe’s most promising young wingers. Securing Barcola would provide manager Mikel Arteta with another attacking option and bolster Arsenal’s squad depth ahead of the new season.
