Arthur Atta has officially joined Fiorentina from Udinese in a permanent transfer, the clubs confirmed on Saturday. The fee for the 23-year-old midfielder is reported to be around €30 million, excluding any potential bonuses, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. Contract details were not disclosed by Fiorentina.
Atta arrived in Italy in 2024, signing for Udinese after beginning his professional career with FC Metz. He quickly established himself as a key player for the Friuli-based club, enjoying a particularly successful season in which he made 36 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing four assists. His performances reportedly attracted interest from other Serie A clubs, including Inter Milan.
Fiorentina are undergoing a period of transition, having secured their Serie A status for another season with a 15th-place finish. The club recently appointed Fabio Grosso as their new head coach, and Atta will now play under his guidance. Grosso will be hoping Atta’s arrival will provide a boost to the team’s midfield options and contribute to a more stable campaign next season.
Atta’s move represents a significant step up in his career, offering him the opportunity to play for a club with European ambitions. For Udinese, the sale generates a substantial fee for a player they acquired relatively recently. This transfer is expected to strengthen Fiorentina’s midfield and provide a platform for Atta to further develop his potential in a competitive league.
