Fisnik Asllani is poised to join Borussia Dortmund from TSG Hoffenheim this summer in a deal reportedly worth €30 million, according to Kosovan football commentator Arlind Sadiku. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder will sign a long-term contract with Dortmund, though specific terms have not yet been disclosed. Sadiku, a commentator for ‘Artmotion’, claims the transfer is already a completed agreement between the two Bundesliga clubs.
Asllani enjoyed a breakout season with Hoffenheim, registering 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions. He quickly established himself as a key player for the Sinsheim club, demonstrating both creativity and goalscoring ability. Hoffenheim signed Asllani in 2022, and he quickly became a focal point in their attack, contributing significantly to their Bundesliga campaign. His existing contract with Hoffenheim runs until 2029, but includes a release clause that has allowed Dortmund to secure his services at a fixed fee.
Dortmund’s consistent participation in the Champions League is believed to be a significant factor in Asllani’s decision to move to the Westfalenstadion. The club has been a regular fixture in Europe’s premier club competition for the past three seasons, offering a platform for Asllani to further showcase his talent on the international stage. Dortmund finished fifth in the Bundesliga last season, narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification, but will compete in the competition after RB Leipzig were disqualified.
The arrival of Asllani potentially signals an impending departure from Dortmund’s forward line. Reports suggest that either Serhou Guirassy or Karim Adeyemi could leave the club to make room for the Kosovan international. Guirassy enjoyed a prolific season on loan at VfB Stuttgart, while Adeyemi has struggled to consistently replicate his form since joining from RB Salzburg. Dortmund will likely seek to balance their attacking options before the start of the new season.
Asllani’s versatility and eye for goal will provide Dortmund coach Edin Terzic with additional tactical flexibility. The transfer represents a significant investment for the club, and fans will be eager to see how Asllani integrates into the team and contributes to their ambitions in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
