Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has informed the club of his intention to leave this summer, according to TEAMtalk. The France international is reportedly frustrated with his role under manager Luis Enrique and has begun exploring options with several of Europe’s top clubs.
PSG had hoped to extend Barcola’s contract, which has two years remaining, but those plans have been complicated by the 23-year-old’s desire for more consistent playing time. Sources indicate Barcola was disappointed to not feature in the starting lineup during either the Champions League semi-final or final, leading him to believe his opportunities will be limited in Paris.
Representatives for Barcola have already begun discussions with a number of potential suitors. In the Premier League, both Arsenal and Liverpool have expressed interest, having admired the player for some time. Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea have also held preliminary talks regarding a possible transfer.
Interest extends beyond England, with Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and Napoli all making inquiries. Barcola is widely regarded as one of the most promising young attackers in European football, explaining the extensive list of interested clubs.
PSG are now preparing for the possibility of losing Barcola and have identified Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche as a potential replacement. Akliouche has also attracted attention from several English clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United. While PSG still hope to convince Barcola to remain in Paris, the player’s determination to secure a more prominent role elsewhere, coupled with the interest from across Europe, suggests a transfer is increasingly likely.
