Bayern Munich are pushing to secure Harry Kane to a new long-term contract, despite reported interest from several top European clubs, including former side Tottenham Hotspur, according to TEAMtalk. The England captain has been a prolific presence for the Bundesliga champions since joining from Tottenham in 2023, scoring 146 goals in 147 appearances and being named Bundesliga Player of the Year.
Kane’s current contract has just 12 months remaining, naturally attracting attention from across Europe, but Bayern are reportedly confident of retaining his services. Discussions with Kane’s representatives have been ongoing for several months, and sources close to the club suggest a renewal is a matter of “when, not if”.
Intermediaries have been sounding out potential options for Kane, alerting clubs to his availability, though it is understood these actions are not directly sanctioned by the player. While a move to Saudi Arabia is not currently appealing to Kane, a transfer to Major League Soccer is viewed as a more favourable long-term possibility.
Barcelona have reportedly made enquiries regarding Kane’s contractual situation, and Real Madrid have requested updates should circumstances change. Tottenham Hotspur, under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, are also monitoring the situation closely, benefiting from clauses in Kane’s original transfer that keep them informed of developments. A potential return to north London next summer is considered a possibility, should the circumstances be right. Manchester United, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s known admiration for Kane, are also long-term admirers, as are Chelsea and Manchester City, who have both been kept updated on the situation. However, Bayern remain steadfast in their belief that Kane will extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, ideally before the start of the new season, but are relaxed about negotiations continuing beyond the transfer window’s close, so long as a resolution is reached before December or January.
