Bayern Munich's Max Eberl Rules Out Michael Olise Sale Amid Real Madrid Interest
Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has categorically ruled out the sale of star winger Michael Olise this summer, despite reported interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are said to be considering an offer in the region of €160-165 million for the French international, according to a report from Bild's Christian Falk. However, Eberl has moved decisively to quash any speculation about a potential transfer.
In an interview with Sky Germany, Eberl was unequivocal when asked about the possibility of Olise leaving the Allianz Arena. "No. Quite simply, no," Eberl stated. He emphasized the 23-year-old's importance to the club's long-term project. "We have a long-term project. Michael feels very comfortable here. You can see how this team functions, how successful it can be. And if we play football like this, there is no chance for anything else."
Olise has been a revelation for Bayern since his move from Crystal Palace in 2024, establishing himself as one of the most potent attacking forces in the Bundesliga. This season, the winger has been in sensational form, contributing 16 goals and 29 assists in 41 appearances, making him a central figure in the team's attack. Eberl was effusive in his praise, highlighting the player's development and mentality. "We can see how he is developing. We saw what potential he had when we signed him. Over the past year and three quarters at Bayern Munich, he has not only confirmed that, but improved even further," Eberl said.
Eberl also praised Olise's professional attitude, noting his relentless drive for improvement. The sporting director revealed that even after a match with a direct contribution to five goals, Olise's self-assessment is often a simple, "It was okay." Eberl described this relentless drive as the quality that could see him become "one of the best footballers in the world." The club's firm stance and the player's reported contentment in Munich suggest that, despite the significant financial offer being prepared by Real Madrid, Olise will be a key part of Bayern's plans for the foreseeable future, with the club viewing him as a cornerstone of their long-term project under new manager Vincent Kompany.
