Bayern Munich are reportedly willing to consider offers for Alphonso Davies this summer, with clubs from Saudi Arabia expressing interest in the Canada captain, according to Sport Bild. Representatives from Saudi Arabian clubs have already held discussions with Bayern officials at the club’s training headquarters, Säbener Straße, to gauge the feasibility of a potential transfer.
While no concrete proposals have emerged at this stage, Bayern’s openness stems in part from Davies’ substantial wage packet, which reportedly falls between €15-20 million per year. The financial implications of retaining a player earning such a high salary are clearly a factor in the club’s thinking, especially as they navigate their summer transfer business.
Davies joined Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019, initially on loan, before making the move permanent later that year. He quickly established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s premier left-backs, known for his blistering pace and attacking contributions. He has won five Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokal trophies, and the Champions League with the Bavarian giants.
However, the 2025/26 season proved challenging for Davies, as he struggled with a series of injuries that impacted his consistency and playing time. In response to his fitness concerns and to increase competition in that position, Bayern have already secured the services of Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, further suggesting a willingness to reshape their options at left-back.
Despite the Saudi interest and Bayern’s potential willingness to sell, it remains uncertain whether Davies himself would be receptive to a move to the Saudi Pro League. The report suggests the player may be hesitant, but the financial incentives offered by Saudi clubs could prove persuasive. A departure for Davies would represent a significant shift in Bayern’s squad and potentially open up funds for other acquisitions during the transfer window.
