Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has emphatically stated that Michael Olise will not be sold to Real Madrid, dismissing any potential approach from the Spanish giants. Hainer’s comments, reported by Abendzeitung, come amid sustained speculation linking the French winger with a move to the Santiago Bernabéu. He indicated that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez would be wasting his time submitting a bid for the player.
Hainer went further, claiming that he received direct communication from Real Madrid officials denying any contact with Olise or interest in initiating a transfer. According to Hainer, the club expressed their frustration with the ongoing media speculation surrounding a possible deal. This clarification from both clubs appears designed to quell the rumors that have circulated in recent weeks.
Olise joined Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in July 2023 for a reported fee of €50 million. The 22-year-old has quickly established himself as a key player for Thomas Tuchel’s side, contributing significantly with his dribbling ability and creative passing. He has made 25 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 9 assists. Prior to his move to Germany, Olise impressed in the Premier League with Palace, becoming known for his set-piece expertise and dynamic attacking play.
Hainer also addressed Bayern’s broader transfer strategy, confirming the recent acquisitions of Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari. He remained guarded about potential further additions, stating that any new signings would be “targeted reinforcements” in both attacking and defensive positions. Hainer affirmed his satisfaction with the current squad’s quality, suggesting that any incoming players would supplement, rather than overhaul, the existing team. This suggests Bayern are content with their current options but are prepared to strengthen specific areas if the opportunity arises.
The firm stance taken by Bayern Munich reinforces their commitment to retaining key assets and building a competitive squad capable of challenging for both domestic and European honors. This decision signals a strong message to Real Madrid and other potential suitors, indicating that Olise is integral to Bayern’s long-term plans.
