Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has dismissed any possibility of Michael Olise joining Real Madrid this summer, stating the club has no intention of selling the French winger. The firm stance comes amid reports in Spain suggesting Real Madrid were prepared to offer a club-record fee of €150m (£129m, $173m) for the 27-year-old.
Hainer told BILD that any offer from Florentino Perez would be “a waste of time,” echoing similar sentiments from Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeness and former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who both insisted Olise is not for sale. The club’s resolute position reflects Olise’s importance to the team since his €60m (£52m) transfer from Crystal Palace in summer 2024.
Olise has quickly become a key player for Bayern, contributing to an impressive 106 goals in 107 appearances with 54 goals scored and 42 assists. He recently showcased his form with a hat-trick for France in a 3-1 victory over Northern Ireland, further highlighting his value. The speculation surrounding a potential move to Madrid arose following Perez’s re-election manifesto, which promised a significant investment in a “global superstar.”
However, sources at TEAMtalk suggest Perez’s target was actually a winger from Paris Saint-Germain. Despite this, the links to Olise prompted the strong reaction from Bayern officials. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that, as of now, the expectation is for Olise to remain at Bayern, citing the club’s unwillingness to negotiate a deal. Romano also detailed that Perez was “in love” with Olise’s performances during Champions League matches between Bayern and Real Madrid, believing his addition alongside Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé would create the world’s best attack.
Despite Perez’s reported admiration and willingness to spend a significant sum, Bayern Munich appear determined to hold onto one of their most valuable assets. This firm stance signals a commitment to maintaining a strong squad and competing at the highest level in both domestic and European competitions.
