Bayern Munich have intensified their interest in signing Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown, according to reports from German television channel Sport1. The Bavarian club has reportedly already held discussions with Frankfurt regarding a potential transfer for the 22-year-old defender.
Brown currently has a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt that runs until 2030, and the club had previously valued him at a reported €65 million. However, Frankfurt’s failure to qualify for European competition next season has altered their position and increased the likelihood of a sale.
The need to generate funds following their disappointing Bundesliga campaign is expected to lead to a reduction in Brown’s asking price. Frankfurt finished outside of the qualifying spots for the UEFA Europa Conference League, increasing the pressure to sell valuable assets.
Nathaniel Brown has established himself as a regular in the Frankfurt starting eleven, making 33 appearances in the Bundesliga this season. During those appearances, he contributed to the attack with four goals and four assists, showcasing his capabilities both defensively and offensively. He joined Frankfurt in 2021 from Hoffenheim’s youth setup.
Bayern Munich’s interest in Brown stems from the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Alphonso Davies’ future and his recent injury struggles. Davies has been hampered by injuries throughout the current season, prompting the club to seek a potential long-term replacement. Brown’s arrival would provide competition and depth in the left-back position. The move could represent a significant step up in Brown’s career, offering him the opportunity to compete for major honors with one of Europe’s elite clubs.
