Besiktas have made a substantial offer to Dusan Vlahovic, presenting the Juventus forward with a deal including a signing bonus of at least 5 million euros, according to reports in Italy. The offer mirrors a previous attempt from Fenerbahce last summer, which saw a 30 million euro bid for the player and a 10 million euro annual salary proposed to Vlahovic.
The Turkish club’s pursuit comes as Vlahovic’s contract with Juventus is set to expire in nine days, making him a free agent. Besiktas’s ownership has pledged over 150 million euros for summer transfers as they aim to regain competitiveness domestically and qualify for the Champions League for the first time in five years, and acquiring Vlahovic would be a statement signing. A key factor in Besiktas’s approach is the presence of manager Vincenzo Italiano.
Italiano and Vlahovic previously worked together at Fiorentina in 2021, where the Serbian striker enjoyed a prolific spell, scoring 17 goals in 22 matches. This form earned him a January transfer to Juventus. Italiano’s presence is intended to sway Vlahovic, but the player is reportedly hesitant about a move to a league considered less prominent in European football, particularly at 26 years old.
Vlahovic and his father, Milos, who manages his affairs, are prioritizing offers from top European clubs, even if it means accepting a role that doesn’t guarantee a starting position. Interest from clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich has yet to materialize into concrete offers, with Vlahovic’s demands reportedly deemed excessive. Juventus have offered Vlahovic a one-year contract extension worth up to 8 million euros including bonuses, but the player is currently considering his options. The club is observing the situation and awaiting a decision from the player.
