Bournemouth and Hull City are both expressing significant interest in Elche striker Alvaro Rodriguez, according to TEAMtalk. The 21-year-old forward has attracted attention following a successful LaLiga campaign where he scored seven goals and provided five assists, playing a key role in Elche’s survival.
Rodriguez, a former Real Madrid academy player, is viewed within the industry as a prospect with considerable potential. His blend of physical strength, aerial ability, and technical skill makes him an appealing target for clubs looking to bolster their attacking options. While reports initially suggested offers in the region of €22million (£19m / $25.4m) had been received, sources indicate no concrete bids have yet been made.
Bournemouth, recently qualifying for the Europa League, are considering Rodriguez as a potential addition to their forward line. Newly promoted Hull City are also tracking the player as they aim to make a statement upon their return to the Premier League. Both clubs see Rodriguez as a valuable asset to their respective squads.
Real Madrid are also poised to benefit financially from any potential transfer. The Spanish giants sold Rodriguez to Elche last summer for approximately €2million (£1.7m / $2.3m), but retained a 50 per cent economic right to the player. This sell-on clause could potentially earn Los Blancos up to €11million (£9.5m / €12.7m) from a future deal.
Celtic had previously shown strong interest in Rodriguez earlier in the year, viewing him as a possible replacement for existing attackers. However, the Scottish champions have been priced out of a move due to the increased valuation driven by Premier League interest. Ajax and Feyenoord have also monitored Rodriguez’s progress, but are yet to make any formal advances, potentially awaiting player sales to free up funds. Rodriguez represents a long-term investment with the potential for immediate impact, and his departure from Elche appears increasingly likely.
