Saad Boussadia has signed his first professional contract with Lille, committing to the club until 2029, the club confirmed on Wednesday. The 18-year-old midfielder has been with Lille’s academy since the age of six and the deal rewards his progression within the youth setup. Despite being named on the first-team bench ten times, Boussadia is yet to make a senior appearance for Les Dogues.
Boussadia, who is also a youth international for Algeria, impressed during the 2024-2025 UEFA Youth League campaign, reportedly attracting attention from other clubs. He is a versatile player capable of featuring in multiple midfield positions, offering tactical flexibility for Lille manager Paulo Fonseca. The new contract reflects the club's commitment to promoting talent from within its academy.
Born in Roubaix, a city within the Lille metropolitan area, Boussadia expressed his pride at signing a professional deal with his boyhood club. “I was born here, in Roubaix, I grew up in the metropolis, I joined LOSC at the age of 6, so for my family and me, it’s a great pride,” he said, according to L’Équipe. He stated his ambition is to establish himself as a regular member of the first team.
Lille are currently competing in Ligue 1 and reached the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League this season. The club has a reputation for developing young players, with several academy graduates having made a significant impact in recent years. Securing Boussadia’s future demonstrates Lille’s continued investment in its youth system and provides a pathway for the young Algerian to progress towards first-team football. This contract extension provides stability and opportunity for Boussadia to compete for a place in a competitive Lille midfield.
