Jayden Braaf is training with VfL Osnabrück and could earn a permanent contract with the newly promoted Bundesliga 2 side, according to Kicker.de. The 23-year-old winger is a free agent, most recently leaving Italian club Hellas Verona in September 2025, and will feature in a friendly against Hannover 96 as he attempts to secure a deal.
Braaf’s career has stalled since being touted as a promising talent during his time at Borussia Dortmund. He joined BVB from Manchester City in 2022, but departed after only six months, failing to establish himself in the first team. His time at Dortmund followed a youth career at City where he showed flashes of potential but struggled with consistency and injury.
Following his short spell in Germany, Braaf moved to Italy with Hellas Verona, but his stint there was also unsuccessful, ending in his departure last year. He has been searching for a new club ever since, with reported interest from ADO Den Haag, Portsmouth, and Cádiz. However, Osnabrück have emerged as frontrunners for his signature, with his market value currently estimated at €400,000.
Osnabrück’s promotion from the 3.Liga last season offers Braaf an opportunity to rebuild his career in familiar surroundings. The club will be hoping the winger can rediscover the form that once marked him as a player to watch, providing a creative spark in their first season back in the second tier. A successful trial could provide Braaf with the platform to reignite his career and demonstrate the potential he showed earlier in his development.
