Nathaniel Brown has completed a move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Bayern Munich, the clubs confirmed on Wednesday. The left-back has signed a long-term contract with the Bavarian side, keeping him at the Allianz Arena until 2031, in a deal worth approximately €55 million.
The transfer was widely anticipated, and the agreement has now been officially announced. Brown joins Bayern after a period of significant development at Frankfurt, where he established himself as a key player. Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krösche, successfully negotiated a substantial fee, reportedly around €55 million, despite interest from other prominent European clubs.
Krösche stated that while Frankfurt were keen to retain Brown, the player expressed a clear desire to join Bayern and take the next step in his career. He emphasized that discussions were conducted with trust and openness, and Frankfurt wish Brown all the best. Brown himself expressed gratitude for his time at Frankfurt, acknowledging the club’s role in his sporting and personal growth, and stating he will “always carry Eintracht Frankfurt in my heart.”
Brown initially joined Frankfurt two years ago from second-division Nürnberg for around €5.5 million. He experienced initial difficulties, including time on the substitutes’ bench, but quickly became a regular under former coach Dino Toppmöller. His performances steadily improved, and he became a vital component of the Frankfurt squad. Last season, he was one of the team’s most consistent performers, particularly excelling in matches against high-profile opponents such as Lamine Yamal, Michael Olise, and Florian Wirtz, attracting attention from across Europe.
The move strengthens Bayern’s options at left-back and demonstrates their intent to compete at the highest level, following a similar situation last year with Nick Woltemade. Brown’s arrival is expected to provide competition and depth to the Bayern squad, as they aim to maintain their dominance in the Bundesliga and challenge for European honours.
