Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is seeking a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with the Premier League his preferred destination, according to TEAMtalk. Both Manchester United and Liverpool have expressed strong interest in the France international.
Camavinga’s desire to leave stems from his omission from Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the upcoming tournament in North America. Having been a prominent figure during the 2022 World Cup campaign, the 23-year-old has seen his role diminish at Real Madrid, leading to concerns about his future with the Spanish club.
Sources indicate Camavinga’s representatives are actively exploring options and engaging with clubs to determine the best possible move. Real Madrid are also reportedly open to a sale as they plan for further midfield reinforcements, with players like Rodri, Alexis Mac Allister, and Enzo Fernandez among those admired by the club.
Manchester United and Liverpool have both been in contact with Camavinga’s camp in the last week, with both clubs identified as long-term admirers of the player. Both Premier League sides are in the market for a central midfielder, and Camavinga is considered a suitable candidate. They have also previously monitored his Real Madrid teammate, Aurelien Tchouameni, but his availability appears less likely.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also registered interest in Camavinga, though United and Liverpool are currently leading the chase. Real Madrid are expected to demand a fee of around £50million for the player, a figure not expected to deter potential suitors given his age, experience, and versatility.
Camavinga has made over 300 senior appearances for club and country, earning close to 30 caps for France. His ability to play in multiple positions – defensive midfielder, box-to-box midfielder, left-sided midfielder, and even left-back – is a significant asset. Those close to the situation believe he would quickly adapt to the Premier League’s physical and tactical demands.
While Real Madrid are not actively pushing Camavinga out, there is an internal acceptance that a departure could be beneficial for all parties. Following his World Cup snub, Camavinga appears determined to find a new challenge, with England emerging as the most likely destination.
