Chelsea are prepared to sell winger Alejandro Garnacho after just one season at Stamford Bridge, potentially offering Manchester United a £4m boost through a sell-on clause. According to Football London, the club will only consider permanent offers, rejecting potential loan deals, particularly from Serie A side Roma.
Garnacho completed a £40 million move to Chelsea last summer, a transfer he reportedly pushed for despite interest from other clubs. However, the Argentine struggled to establish himself as a regular starter for the Blues, leading to the club’s decision to offer him for transfer.
Manchester United included a 10 percent sell-on clause in the deal that saw Garnacho move to Chelsea, a provision that could now prove lucrative. United have been priced out of several midfield targets this window, including Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali, and Elliot Anderson, and are pursuing Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni. The additional funds from a Garnacho sale would strengthen their position.
Reports indicate that a number of teams are interested in signing Garnacho, as verified by reporter Ben Jacobs. While no official dialogue has begun, Chelsea’s willingness to accept a permanent transfer significantly increases the likelihood of a deal being struck this summer. The situation represents a reversal of fortune for United, who accepted what appeared to be an undervalued fee for the player last year.
