Chelsea could potentially sign Jan Paul van Hecke, Morgan Rogers, and Yan Diomande without a direct financial outlay this summer by maximizing player sales, according to a report from TransfersDaily. The club, under new manager Xabi Alonso, are aiming to reshape their squad after a 10th-place finish in the 2025-26 Premier League season and face a season without European competition.
Chelsea have been active in the transfer market since the arrival of BlueCo in 2022, and have already secured deals for Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev, and Denner. An agreement is also in place to sign Strasbourg midfielder Valentin Barco, with concerns lingering over the future of Enzo Fernandez. Despite these additions, Alonso is targeting a central defender and a versatile attacker, identifying van Hecke and Rogers as potential targets.
RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande has also been linked, though Liverpool are currently considered the favorites for his signature. The club believes it can acquire all three players – valued at a combined €300 million – by generating approximately €315.5 million through player sales. This strategy is being implemented to navigate Financial Fair Play regulations and rebuild the squad efficiently.
Several players are expected to depart Stamford Bridge, including goalkeepers Filip Jorgensen and Gabriel Slonina. Mike Penders is set to return from a successful loan spell at Strasbourg. While Tosin Adarabioyi is currently expected to remain, Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi are slated for permanent exits, and Caleb Wiley may also be sold without featuring for the first team. In attack, Alejandro Garnacho and Liam Delap could leave after a single season, alongside Tyrique George and David Datro Fofana, both of whom spent last season on loan.
Pedro Neto’s situation is more complex, with Chelsea potentially willing to consider offers if it facilitates the signings of Rogers and Diomande, given the presence of Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens, and Quenda. Marc Guiu’s future is also contingent on whether Nicolas Jackson remains with the club. Should these sales materialize, Chelsea’s projected squad for the 2026-27 season would include a blend of established players and new acquisitions, positioning them to compete more effectively in the Premier League.
