Chelsea have officially announced the signings of Geovany Quenda, Denner, Emmanuel Emegha, and Dastan Satpaev as new manager Xabi Alonso begins reshaping the squad following a disappointing 10th-place finish in the Premier League last season.
The most substantial of the deals is winger Geovany Quenda, arriving from Sporting CP for a reported £43 million. The 19-year-old, who can play on the right wing or as a wing-back, made 86 appearances for Sporting, scoring nine goals, and has agreed to a seven-year contract with the Blues. The agreement to sign Quenda was initially reached in March 2025, and the transfer has now been formally completed.
Also joining Chelsea is 18-year-old Brazilian defender Denner, who arrives from Corinthians for a fee of £8.25 million. The cousin of Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes, Denner had a pre-agreement in place with Chelsea since January 2025, finalized after turning 18 in February. Though yet to make a senior appearance for Corinthians, Chelsea view Denner as a promising development prospect.
Striker Emmanuel Emegha, 23, joins from Strasbourg for £22 million, utilizing Chelsea’s connection through the BlueCo ownership group. Emegha, who captained Strasbourg, had the move arranged in September 2025 but endured an injury-affected season, starting only four Ligue 1 games despite scoring four goals. His ability to become a consistent starter remains to be seen, particularly given Joao Pedro’s positive debut season at Stamford Bridge.
The final confirmed signing is 17-year-old striker Dastan Satpaev from Kairat, with the transfer set to be completed when he turns 18 in August. Satpaev, a Kazakhstan international, has impressed in the Kairat youth system, wearing the number 10 shirt and scoring over 20 goals. As of now, no players have officially departed Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are expected to continue to be active in the transfer market, with defense and the winger positions identified as areas for potential strengthening. The club also faces decisions regarding its goalkeeping options, with Filip Jorgensen reportedly unsettled and Mike Penders returning from a loan spell. Further movement between Chelsea and other BlueCo-owned clubs, such as Strasbourg and former Brighton players, is also anticipated.
