Serie A side Como are showing interest in Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as they prepare for their inaugural Champions League campaign next season, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 26-year-old England international established himself as a key figure in Chelsea’s defence last year, making 47 appearances across all competitions while Levi Colwill was unavailable.
Chalobah’s current contract with Chelsea is set to expire in 2028, leading the club to consider offers for the player should they fail to agree on new terms. While Chelsea are not actively seeking to sell Chalobah, they are reportedly open to a departure if a suitable bid matching their valuation is received. Romano confirmed Como’s interest on X, stating there is currently a “big gap in valuation” between the two clubs.
Chalobah currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €51.6 million, which would make him Como’s record signing should they meet the asking price. He initially rose through the Chelsea academy, becoming a valuable member of the first team in recent seasons after a successful loan spell at Lorient. He even earned a late call-up to England’s World Cup squad under Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea may also be willing to part with fellow centre-back Wesley Fofana this summer. The Frenchman arrived from Leicester City for €80.4 million in 2022, but injuries and inconsistent form have hampered his progress. The club would require a fee of around €34.6 million to avoid a loss on Fofana due to financial fair play regulations, and his ETV currently sits at €34.2 million. A centre-back clear-out at Stamford Bridge could also see Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi and Mamadou Sarr depart, as the Blues look to reshape their defensive options.
