The appointment marks a return to the Bavarian club for the 42-year-old, where he previously played for three seasons between 2012 and 2015, featuring in 133 matches. Dante’s move comes just days after his final appearance as a player for Nice, securing a 4-1 victory over Saint-Étienne in a Ligue 1 relegation playoff match.
Dante spent ten seasons with Nice, becoming a key figure and captain for the French side. His departure from the club was met with emotion, as noted in reports following his final game.
