Michele Di Gregorio’s agent, Carlo Alberto Belloni, has publicly criticized Juventus’ treatment of the goalkeeper, demanding “respect” for his client. Belloni’s statements, made via Instagram stories from his agency CA Sport Management, followed comments from Juventus’ CEO Giuseppe Carnevali which appeared to place blame for the club’s recent shortcomings on Di Gregorio and the team’s attacking options.
Belloni highlighted the instability within the Juventus organization over the past two seasons, citing “20 new players in two seasons, three coaches in two seasons and three management teams in two seasons” as factors contributing to the club’s difficulties. He pointed to Sofascore rankings which placed Di Gregorio fourth among Serie A goalkeepers, ahead of both Milinkovic-Savic and current Juventus number one, Sommer.
The agent further criticized the club’s recent spending on forwards, stating that €130 million was spent on “unpresentable” attackers, and that the resulting failure was unfairly attributed to Di Gregorio, who was personally identified by former sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli as the best goalkeeper in Serie A at the time of his signing. He drew a comparison of goals conceded – Juventus 34, Inter 35 – and goals scored – Juventus 61, Inter 82 – to illustrate perceived imbalances within the team.
Di Gregorio currently has three years remaining on his contract with Juventus and is expected to join the team for pre-season training. Belloni stated that they will assess potential opportunities during the transfer window, revealing that the goalkeeper is on the shortlist of several European clubs, but that there is no immediate rush to secure a move. He concluded by emphasizing Di Gregorio’s consistent commitment to the team, even when faced with the possibility of being benched. The situation suggests a potentially strained relationship between the player’s representatives and the Juventus hierarchy.
